A man is now dead on what would’ve been his 46th birthday after lying in the street before being run over and killed upon impact, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
A 46-year-old man, Jun Heredia, was laying on Maggie Street in Wimauma around 4:45 a.m. this morning when a car approaching him, hit him and fled the scene, killing him instantly.
Deputies say they aren’t aware of why he was laying in the street, but did say that he was carrying drug paraphernalia and that drug toxicology tests are pending.
Heredia suffered a head injury and was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he later died. Police don’t have a description of the car that stuck Heredia and say that the investigation is still ongoing according to reports from the Tampa Bay Times.
