Florida Superintendent of the Year Forced to Defend Her Job

TAMPA – School Board Chairwoman Susan Valdes has put the possible termination of Superintendent MaryEllen Elia on the agenda. Valdes cites that she just wants to have the discourse, conversation and it is nothing personal.

Elia, whom just won Florida Superintendent of the Year 2014, would be due 700 thousand dollars in severance if terminated.

This is nothing more than personal and Valdes is allowing her personal feelings cloud her judgement and compromise her actions.
