Family Uninjured in Apartment Building Fire

Tampa

Tampa Fire Rescue responded to 16200 Enclave Village Drive at 9:30 this morning. This is the The Promenade at Tampa Palms apartment complex. The 911 call was from security claiming that smoke and flames were coming from one of the three story, multi-unit buildings within the complex.

First units arrived on scene at 9:35 and immediately began attacking the fire. Flames were coming from the third floor, southeast unit balcony and the roof.

Additional units were called to ensure the fire did not spread to any adjoining apartments. Once the fire was under control the additional units were cancelled.

Crews say as of 10:30 all flames were put out and firefighters were dousing hotspots to prevent reflash.

A family of four, two adults and two children, escaped from the unit unharmed. The other residents of the building escaped safely without injury.

The American Red Cross has been notified to aid the displaced family.

An investigator from the Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene to determine the origin and source of the fire.
