Drunk Driver Sideswipes Patrol Car During DUI Stop

A man has been arrested after side swiping a marked patrol car during a traffic stop.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 BMW at Dale Mabry and North Village Drive just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday night. The driver of that car, 36-year-old Michael Probst, was arrested for DUI after deputies noticed signs of impairment.

That’s when 49-year-old Todd Casey (pictured) of Tampa side swiped the patrol car. He kept driving in his 2005 Dodge sedan.

Deputies stopped the vehicle at Dale Mabry Highway North and Fletcher Avenue West. Casey emitted an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath as he spoke, his eyes were red and glassy, and his speech was slurred.

Deputies arrested Casey for DUI and DUI with Property Damage. He provided a breath sample of BAC .181/.196.
