The second phase of the trial against Humberto Delgado Jr., now convicted of the first degree murder of Tampa police Cpl. Mike Roberts, begins this morning.
The jury’s consideration: The death penalty.
Prosecutors will present jurors with “victim impact” testimony from Tampa police Chief Jane Castor and Cindy Roberts, the corporal’s wife.
The defense witnesses include five doctors.
The penalty phase is expected to spill into Friday.
