Citrus Park Mall Shooter Arrested

Hillsborough County detectives have arrested the man accused of stealing a necklace and shooting at an employee inside the Citrus Park Mall.

According to deputies, 22-year-old Andrew Cohen of Tampa is charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

Cohen attempted to steal a necklace worth thousands of dollars from a Meher Jewelers kiosk on November 23. He fled and the sales associate followed him at which point Cohen fired his gun at the victim. The foot chase continued into the parking lot when a second shot was fired. The victim was able to retrieve the stolen necklace and the Cohen fled, deputies say.

Cohen was arrested without incident during a traffic stop Sunday evening. Detectives recovered clothing Cohen wore during the robbery as well as the same type of ammunition that was recovered at the scene.

Cohen has been booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
