Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a reported vehicle into a structure at 7120 Barclay Ave.
According to Hernando County Fire Rescue, the resident of the home, a grandmother watching her children, alerted police after the incident occurred.
First units arrived within five minutes and found a small four-door sedan had crashed into the front door of the apartment. According to witnesses, it appears that the driver was suffering from a medical condition just prior to the crash. The driver was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, and neither the occupant nor the children in the apartment were injured.
Apartment complex management has been notified and will be relocating the victims to another unit.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, Hernando County Building Department and the Florida Highway Patrol, who is currently investigating the accident, assisted HCFR.
