Tampa-based Beef ‘O’ Brady’s has joined a growing list of retailers who have reported credit breaches in recent weeks, as there are four separate locations in North Port that may have had their credit and debit card information stolen.
Customers had complained to North Port Police about fraudulent transactions on their statements, and with some help from the U.S. Secret Service, the breach was traced back to Beef’s, the station reported.
FOX reported earlier that the unauthorized purchases on victims’ accounts were made in locations across the country, including New York, Massachusetts and Texas.
Though the breach was initially discovered in North Port, it extends beyond that community and could affect other Beef ‘O’ Brady’s locations across the state of Florida.
It is unclear at this time whichBeef ‘O’ Brady’s locations in particular may have suffered the breach.
