Boy Arrested 20+ Times Steals Man’s Car [VIDEO]

St. Petersburg police have arrested a 12-year-old boy after he scammed an elderly man and stole his car at a gas station.

Police say 89-year-old Raymond Raftery was driving his Toyota on Friday when the boy, riding a bicycle, told him that his tire was low on air.

When Raftery pulled up to an air pump and got out of the car, the boy ditched his bike, jumped in the car and drove off. Raftery was not injured. This occurred at 11:00 am at 4890 22 Ave. S. and was captured on surveillance video.

According to police, one of their detectives recognized the boy and he was arrested Monday, December 13 and charged with grand theft auto. Police say the boy has been arrested more than 20 times.
