Tampa PD Searching For Armed Robbery Suspect

Tampa

Tampa police have released a selfie taken on a cell phone in hopes that someone can identify the person in the picture, who is accused of armed robbery.

According to police, on August 23, 2014, two male victims were working as valets in a parking lot near Hyde Park Cafe. While they were waiting for cars to park, two suspects jumped out of a dark colored sedan and pointed guns at both victims. The suspects stole cash and cellphones from the victims and fled the scene.

Several days after the armed robbery, a possible suspect used one of the stolen phones to access the victim’s social media accounts. The unidentified male logged into the victim’s Kik Messenger account and sent a “selfie” to the victim’s friend. The friend was able to capture a screenshot of the photo before it was deleted from the victim’s account.

Anyone with information about this armed robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS(8477) or text” CSTB plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash.
