Amalie Arena Is Bringing In More Big Names

Music and concert lovers got some good news on Monday morning. Katy Perry and Kendrick Lamar announced tour stops at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

Lamar is a West Coast rapper known for his hits just released a new album last month, DAMN. He will be stopping in Tampa on Sept. 1 and it will be his second time coming to Amalie Arena after opening for Kayne West in 2013. YG and D.R.A.M. will open his show. Ticket prices start at $35.75 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m.

The saucy Perry will come to Amalie on Dec. 15 for the first time since 2014. The pop singer’s tour is in support of her just-announced new album Witness. The album features hit singles Chained to the Rhythm and Bon Appetit. The album is set to release on June 9 and tickets for the show will go on sale on May 22 at 10 a.m. starting at $45.75.

As an added bonus each ticket for Perry’s show will include a pre-order for Witness.

Amalie Arena, which is also home to the Tampa Bay Lightning, is bringing in a lot of big names this year. Perry’s show comes just two weeks after Lady Gaga will take the stage in the arena and will be at the same times as 93.3-FLZ’s Jingle Ball.

In June the arena will host Chance the Rapper, Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull. Other names such as Paul McCartney and Shawn Mendez will have stops in Tampa in July.

So far no openers have been announced for Perry’s show, but it is still sure to sell out quick so don’t wait too long on this show.
