Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor’s last day on the job will be May 8. She actually retired last year but was hired as a contractor so she could stay for one more year. At the time, Castor said she stayed because several experienced officers had retired and she wanted to get the next group ready before she leaves. Castor has been with the Tampa Police Department for 30 years.
