Tampa Theatre Launches New Website, Ticket System

Theatre’s Historic Charm Meets Modern Convenience With New Functionality and Online Ticketing Options at www.TampaTheatre.org

TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 17, 2014) – Tampa’s Historic Movie Palace is proud to announce the launch of its new www.TampaTheatre.org website today.

More than six months in development, the new site features a clean, modern design, easy-to-navigate show schedules, and – for the first time – the ability to purchase advance tickets to ALL Tampa Theatre shows, tours and events, both on the site itself and through Facebook. In the coming weeks, new functionality will also allow patrons to purchase memberships online, print their show tickets at home, and even opt to present an e-ticket to be scanned from their mobile devices.

“With this new site, we wanted to incorporate technologies that movie-goers have become accustomed to, but that we have not, to this point, been able to accommodate,” said Jill Witecki, director of marketing at Tampa Theatre. “That includes easy advance sales, mobile ticketing and Facebook integration.”

The new site was designed by Sparxoo, the Tampa-based agency also responsible for the Theatre’s recent rebranding and new logo. The new e-commerce functions are serviced by TicketForce, based in Mesa, Arizona. New box office technologies are also being implemented, such as touch-screen monitors and mobile ticket scanners inside the theatre to facilitate faster sales, quick moving lines and to allow the venue to capture, organize and record vital guest data.

“While we’ve always created an excellent guest experience from the moment they walk through Tampa Theatre’s doors, the modern patron’s experience now starts with the first moment they visit a website or click a Facebook post,” says Tampa Theatre President and CEO John Bell. “Consumers have become accustomed to one-click access to their favorite brands, and we are confident that this new website will allow us to live up to that expectation and remain relevant in our customers’ minds.”
