Tampa: Copa Airlines Makes Inaugural Trip To Panama


Copa Airlines Flight 229 took off from Tampa International Airport at 7:41 a.m. today with a full load of 154 passengers, the first nonstop departure from Tampa to Panama City, Panama, launching a long-awaited connection with Central and South America.

The inbound flight Monday night also was sold out, marking a good start for the four-day-a-week flights expected to boost business, regional economic developments tourism and ease of travel for those with personal ties in the Tampa region and Southern Hemisphere.
