First reading this morning for a controversial “Clean Zone” ordinance that would ban anyone from carrying in knives, rope, brass knckles, explosives and other things during the Republican National Convention in August.
The plan would also limit protests to 60 minutes within the zone–which also includes areas bordering downtown Tampa – which has civil rights advocates concerned…and they’re having their say about it in council chambers.
No vote expected on the plan today…it still has a few hurdles before it can go into effect.
