Tampa Bay Weekend Weather

Not much going on with our weather today. It will be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the low 90s. High pressure is sliding in from the northeast behind Isaac and will give us drier conditions the next several days.  Looks like great Labor Day weekend weather.

Friday will see limited rain chances. During the late afternoon showers may move back to coastal locations over Manatee and Sarasota counties.  Any rain chances should be suppressed the further north one lives from Tampa. Look for a 20% chance of showers Friday.

Saturday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. East wind around 5-10 mph becoming light and variable in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Labor Day Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

A new tropical storm formed Thursday afternoon. Leslie is in the middle of the Atlantic and will not have an impact on the United States.  It is expected to become a hurricane as it moves over the open Atlantic waters and turns in a path like tropical storm Kyle. With Leslie developing today, this season is the quickest 12 named storms have formed  except for the 1995 season when Hurricane Luis formed at the end of August.  Every tropical depression has resulted in a tropical storm so far.
