Tampa Bay Air Not Safe To Breathe: Study

 

The latest American Lung Association “State of the Air” report is not good news for Tampa Bay.

The annual survey of smog and other airborne pollutants shows that Hillsborough County ranks 73rd out of 197 U.S. cities for high ozone days.

Ozone forms when car exhaust, industrial smoke, and carbon dioxide and monoxide from other sources come in contact with sunlight.

Breathing smog-laden air can led to cardiovascular and respiratory disease, cancer, and early death.
