TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A 36-year-old woman has been found dead in a Florida jail.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office says Jennifer Norred was discovered in her cell on Monday morning. A sheriff’s office news release says there were “no signs of foul play,” but they have asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to handle the investigation.
FDLE spokeswoman Jessica Cary would not discuss the investigation but said a medical examiner would determine the cause of death.
Court records show that Norred had been arrested several times over the last 11 years. Those records also show that last week a circuit court judge had ruled her incompetent to stand trial on an aggravated stalking charge.
