Spring Hill Man Kills Wife

He called 911 and told the operator that he had done “the most heinous thing” he has ever done in his life.

He was 61-year-old Alan Osterhoudt Jr. and what he did was shoot and kill his wife.

Now Mr. Osterhoudt is in the Hernando County Detention Center without bail for the alleged murder of Maria Osterhoudt.

When police went to the couple’s home on the 7100 block of Raymond Place in Spring Hill, they found Mrs. Osterhoudt in a bathroom.

Deputies said that Mr. Osterhoudt called 911 late Saturday and told the the operator that he shot and killed his wife after an argument and that he would be waiting for the deputies outside.

According to the victim’s son, Raymond Carter, Maria Osterhoudt was a professor at St. Petersburg College.

She taught computer science at the Tarpon Springs campus, had a Ph.D degree and loved the piano.
