South Florida Olympic Champion Returns Home

MIAMI (AP) _ Cheering crowds with whistles, bike horns and tambourines greeted Olympic gymnast Danell Leyva when he returned home to South Florida from the London Games.

Leyva pulled the bronze medal he won in the all-around from his pants pocket to show the crowd Wednesday night at Miami International Airport.

The Cuban-born 20-year-old who lives in Kendall told The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/QNZlQy ) that he was already focused on pursuing a gold medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.

Leyva was the only member of the U.S. men’s gymnastics team to win a medal in London.
