Senate Votes On Arming Syrian Rebels In ISIS Fight

The Senate voted to authorize the president’s plan to have Syrian rebels take on ISIS was 78-to-22. Among the 22 senators who opposed the measure — some of the most liberal, and the most conservative, members of the Senate.

Vermont’s Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Democrat Elizabeth Warren joined Tea Party stalwarts Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, in voting against the stopgap funding bill authorizing the arming and training of Syrian rebels.

ABC’s Steven Portnoy has the wrap up of that, and what is left for Capitol Hill before lawmakers head back home for the home stretch of the campaign season.
