TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Florida is going to start airing radio ads criticizing California’s decision to raise the minimum wage.
The state’s economic development agency is paying for radio ads that will run on Los Angeles and San Francisco radio stations.
The ads are running right before Gov. Rick Scott heads to California to try to convince businesses to relocate to Florida.
Scott leaves Sunday.
The Republican governor visited several states last year run by Democrats where he denounced their taxes and business climate.
Last week, Scott contended companies would want to leave California because of a “crippling” increase in the minimum wage.
Gov. Jerry Brown earlier this month signed into law a measure that will lift the statewide minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2022.
