Scots Prepare To Vote For Independence From Britain

And they’re off to the polls in the most important vote in a lifetime. But will the ayes have it, or will Scotland say naw thanks to independence from the United Kingdom? No one is certain.

Excitement and anxiety are the bywords as referendum day has finally arrived. Opinion polls suggest the result is too close to call and turnout is expected to reach record levels. More than 4.2 million people are registered to vote, 97 percent of the eligible electorate.
