Sarasota Police detectives are hoping the public can help them identify a man who is seen on surveillance video robbing two cars on August 25.
The suspect is seen on surveillance opening the door on one vehicle, looking around the car’s compartments and then leaving. He then does the same thing on a second vehicle but he steals sunglasses from that car before he leaves.
The suspect is described as a male, last seen wearing a tank top with shorts and sneakers. He has short hair and two tattoos near his bicep area.
The Sarasota Police Department urges citizens to lock their car while at home or even when they’re out running errands, etc. More than half of car thefts in the City of Sarasota occur when the car is unlocked.
