Sarasota: 2 Women Steal 4 Diamond Rings From Store

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota Police Department is searching for two women believed to have worked together to distract store employees at Silverberg Jewelry Store and steal four diamond rings.

On February 22, 2014 at about 4:40 p.m., the two women walked into the Silverberg Jewelry Store, 3800 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Working together, one woman distracted store employees while the other reached behind an unsecured display and stole four diamond rings.

The suspects are both black women, one described as 5’10” in height, with thin dark skin, hair described as straight and in disarray, Jamaican accent, possibly wearing a white shirt with a purse strapped across her body.

The second suspect is 5’2″ in height, heavy set with dark skin, curly longer hair and red highlights with a pulled back pony tail, heavy makeup, possibly wearing a plaid type shirt with a purse strapped across her body.

At this time, there is no vehicle description and detectives are working to obtain better video surveillance.
