Woman Arrested After Throwing Used, Wet Tampon At Police Officer

As if things couldn’t get more disturbing, a 28-year-old St. Petersburg woman was arrested on Monday after throwing a used tampon at a police officer.

According to the police report, Tecora Fields was involved in a brawl Monday night in St. Petersburg, where Fields resides, when police arrived to the scene. When Officer Andre Sousa attempted to resolve the fight, Fields started yelling expletives, taunting the officer and added that, “I’ll hit you with my tampon,” said the police report.

After making the threat, officers saw Fields open her pants and grab something from her genitals. She then presumed to throw the “wet, white paper object,” striking Sousa in the left shoulder.

After she threw the tampon, Fields ran into a nearby residence, but she was “apprehended following a successful taser deployment.”

According to the police report, Fields “intentionally and knowingly caused bodily harm to Officer Sousa with what was described as a”deadly weapon,” a.ka. the tampon.

Fields is being charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, which is a felony. After posting a $5,000 bond she was released from custody.

She has had previous encounters with law enforcement. Her prior arrests are for disorderly conduct and disorderly intoxication.
