Walmart Employee Arrested For Theft Scheme

PINELLAS PARK, Florida — A 24-year-old Walmart employee is accused of a scheme to steal electronics from the store he worked for in Pinellas Park.

Kevin Rious and his 26-year-old accomplice James Lall were arrested Wednesday after Walmart notified officers about the scheme. Both face multiple charges and remained in the Pinellas County Jail on Friday.

According to police, on 24 occasions since May 7 the pair took items worth $23,263 from the store.

Officers say Lall would send Rious a text message with a list of items he wanted. Lall would then go to the electronics register where Rious was working. Rious then completed a sale of items that were not being purchased, which cost much less than the electronics items Lall left the store with. Lall then paid Rious for his assistance.
