St. Pete Woman Shoots Neighbor’s Dogs For Attacking Mother

A St. Petersburg woman has shot her neighbor’s pit bulls for attacking her mother.

Ellen Staples, 69, told police that the two dogs were running loose in her yard located at 1151 55th Avenue South. When she went to shut the windows to make sure they don’t get inside, they jumped at her and bit her hands and wrist.

When she called for help, her daughter, Robin Alotaibi, 51, fired three shots at the dogs with a handgun.

When police arrived, they found the two dogs alive in the yard. Their owner took them to a vet for treatment.

Because Alotaibi fired in defense, no charges are expected.
