St. Pete Police Officer Arrested For DUI

The Tampa Tribune reports that a St. Pete police officer faces charges of driving while intoxicated after being pulled over early Sunday.

Officer Jason B. Irvin, 43, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 102nd Avenue North and Thurston Groves Boulevard in Seminole, according to a report from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies initially pulled the St. Pete officer over because his passenger side headlight was out, but they smelled alcohol in his car, the report said.

Irvin is a community service officer dealing mainly with “quality of life” issues, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department website.
