The Florida Senate race is heating up and the mayor of St. Petersburg, Rick Kriseman, announced his backing of Judithanne Scourfield-Mclauchlan.
“This is a step in the right direction not just for St. Petersburg but for the whole region,” Kriseman said in an interview with the Tampa Tribune. “We need her advocating for our working families across her district.”
There isn’t much surprise regarding Kriseman’s endorsement but it was interesting that he decided to hold a media event. McLauchlan feels that this is a competitive race and that every bit of help will count to get every vote possible. Due to the fact that she doesn’t have the money or name recognition, McLaughlan has to use events such as Kriseman’s media event to help build her campaign but it does seem to be working.
