St. Pete Man Charged With Attempted Second Degree Murder

A St. Pete man was charged with attempted second degree murder after stabbing another man repeatedly late Saturday night.

Richard Bayliss, 45, was the victim in the incident who was stabbed multiple times all ove rhis body by James Alexander, 54. Bayliss was sent to Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

The incident appears to have happened over the theft of a wallet and prescription medication, the St. Pete police said. Alexander fled from the scene before being caught shortly thereafter covered in blood.
