Pinellas Lockdowns Lifted, Suspect At Large

The Pinellas Park Police Department is responding to a shooting in the area of 70th Ave & 52nd Street N. They say the case is being investigated as a robbery and an attempted homicide.

According to police, they are actively looking for one suspect, who is at large.

Pinellas Park Elementary School and Sanders School were placed on lockdown as a precaution but the lockdowns have since been lifted.

According to investigators, the suspect shot and injured a man who was hired to do some work on a home. He reportedly tricked the man into coming into the house and then pulled a gun on the man, ordering him to give him his wallet.

He tried to run but was shot in the arm. The victim has been transported to Bayfront Medical Center as a trauma alert.

The suspect is described as a black male with short hair approximately 5’8 160 pounds.

He is believed to be in his early to mid 20’s. The suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous.
