Police Find Body In St. Petersburg Lake

St. Petersburg police have confirmed a body has been pulled out of a lake where a car was submerged overnight.

According to police, a 2010 black Jaguar with a New York license plate was spotted at 6:30 p.m. Monday night going into Harshaw Lake at 22nd Avenue N and 41st Street.

The car is registered to 46-year-old Larry Nicholas of New York City, but police have not confirmed the body is Nicholas.

On Monday night the vehicle was pulled from the water but there was no one found.

A dive team searched 15 feet of the murkey water and found nothing. They returned Tuesday morning.

Nicholas was visiting family in the 4200 block of 5th Avenue N to pick up a pizza. When he did not return or pick up their phone calls, they went out searching for him and found the police activity at the lake.
