PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A Gulf Coast puppeteer who made a living entertaining children was arrested on child pornography charges.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives say 34-year-old Peter Douglas Emr possessed hundreds of pornographic images of children.
Emr, who performed under the stage name “Emr the Jester,” was arrested Tuesday on six counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of sexual performance with intent to promote. He’s being held on $320,000 bail at the Pinellas County Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled Wednesday.
Detectives searched Emr’s home and found several electronic devices, which still need to be inspected.
Emr had contact with children through his private business. He performed puppet shows, face painting and made balloon animals.
Because of that, the Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with related information to contact detectives.
