Wednesday night at 8:12 pm, a woman called police because she had a fight with 59 year old Bruce Chainay and she wanted to retrieve her belongings from his house.
When officers arrived at 6434 31st St. South, they waited for the woman to arrive. She told them Chainay had marijuana and guns inside the home. By that time Chainay, the homeowner arrived. The woman went inside the house to a guest bedroom closet, and pulled out a large baggie full of marijuana to show officers. Officers then found a 35 gallon plastic container in the closet, filled with large plastic baggies of marijuana. You can see all of the weed in the video below.
The marijuana totaled 27 lbs. Police also found 16 guns: 11 rifles, 2 handguns, 3 bb guns in the closet. They also confiscated $38,000 cash and several thousand rounds of ammunition.
At 6:41am, 59 year old Bruce Chainay was booked into the Pinellas County Jail for armed trafficking in marijuana. He has no prior criminal history.
