This figure is quite a leap from the previous estimate of 421.
The clash between supporters of Morsi and police erupted throughout Cairo and a few other cities.
The Muslim brotherhood estimate the death toll to be around 2,000.
Further protests are likely today, and the death toll is likely to rise with them.
