President Obama Comments On Baltimore Situation

During a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, President Obama talked about the situation in Baltimore, showing no sympathy for the rioters, saying those who stole from businesses and burned buildings should be treated as criminals.

He also mentioned how there appears to be too many instances where police officers interacting with individuals, mainly African-American and often poor, “in ways that raise troubling questions.” The new Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, is also reportedly looking at the Baltimore situation.

Last night, the president hosted a State Dinner with the Japanese prime minister, who addresses Congress Wednesday.
