Poverty Nears 20% for Orlando Workers

ORLANDO – Prices to gain admission to some of the worlds greatest theme parks for families has gone up exponentially over the years but workers are finding it hard to live off the wages earned.

Three of the city’s largest employers, including Walk Disney Co., increased starting pay this year. Even after Disney raised its minimum wage to $10 per hour, employees still live below the federal poverty line. These employees are now being labeled: The working poor.
