Pope Francis will visit the United States next year, the Catholic News Service reported today. It will be his first U.S. visit since becoming Pope in March 2013.
Francis accepted an invitation from Philadelphia Archbishop Charles J. Chaput to attend the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia September 22-27, 2015, the news service said.
The Pope is reportedly considering invitations to visit other U.S. such as New York, the UN and Washington.
