Lawmakers bought themselves a little time, exactly one week in fact, to figure out the DHS funding matter. However, the week’s session will get off to a lousy start, with Democrats claiming they have a deal that Speaker Boehner would put a clean funding bill on the floor, while Republicans say there is no such deal.
So what exactly Speaker Boehner will put on the floor, and for that matter when, remains much in question, as does whether any resolution exists that will take care of the matter by Friday’s new deadline.
