Clearwater Police are involved in a standoff with an armed man.
They have evacuated half a dozen homes on Carroll Street where the man is holed up alone.
A woman in the house with him when police arrived has safely escaped.
There is no word what the man’s problem is, but they have been trying since 6:30 Wednesday morning to talk him out.
