UCF Library Back Open After Gun Scare

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Campus police say they’ve found no threat at the University of Central Florida library following unconfirmed reports of a man or woman with a gun.

UCF police posted on their official Twitter page Tuesday afternoon that campus operations were returning to normal.

Police officers had evacuated the library and searched it floor by floor after they received a social media report of a gunman or woman.

The John C. Hitt Library was placed on lockdown, and police asked people to avoid the area.

Located in Orlando, UCF is one of the largest universities in the country, with over 60,000 students.
