Police Fatally Shoot Man In Titusville

Police_Line2_2013TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Police fatally shot a 26-year-old man outside a Titusville bar where a large crowd had gathered.

The shooting happened Sunday morning after police say the man pointed a gun at them.

Florida Today reports police responded to the area after receiving reports of shots being fired into the air from a vehicle.

Police approached the vehicle and the driver and a passenger cooperated with their orders to get out. Another passenger got out of the car, but didn’t comply with police orders.

According to police, the suspect walked toward officers and they shot him with a stun gun. He managed to pull a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at officers. The officers shot him.

The shooting is being investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
