Police Feel They Have Caught ‘Seffner Bandit’

There have been two dozen robberies in the Seffner area in the past two years and now deputies think they have their man.

Police were lead on a short car chase that ended with ta crash Tuesday night and now they are trying to determine if the suspect is the infamous “Seffner Bandit”.

It all started last night when a coustomer saw a man wearing a hoodie and holding a gun outside the Stop-n-Save Food Store on Clewis Avenue. The customer notified the cleark who called 911

When the suspect walked into the store and pulled out his gun, the clerk was waiting – with his own gun. That’s when the suspect ran out of the store.

As the deputies pulled up to the store they saw the man leaving in his car, which led to the chase and eventually he crashed into a concrete power pole just north of State Road 60 on Lakewood Drive in Brandon.

The suspect, whose name is not being released at this time, was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending.

Police say they have a strong indication that this is the man they’ve been looking for.’
