Pasco Student Arrested After Finding Explosive In Backpack

There’s no telling what a high school student may have done with a homemade explosive device, but what’s clear is that he’s in big trouble.

Deputies arrested and charged a 17-year-old from Marchman Technical in Pasco County for having an explosive device inside his home in a backpack.

The teenager never had the bomb at school, but after a bomb squad investigated the device, they determined it was, in fact, capable of doing significant damage.

Luckily, deputies say, the boy’s grandmother found the device. She notified the sheriff’s office.

The bomb squad found fireworks wrapped around a foam football. They were taped together, and there were bullet casings inside, which could have been shrapnel.
