Property taxes are going up in Pasco County next fiscal year.
Commissioners have voted to hike the tax by 3.7 percent so they can fund a larger-than-normal pay raise for county emergency workers.
The sheriff’s office and fire departments will get 5 percent raises or more under the plan.
Other county employees would get 3 percent more.
