A Crime Stoppers Tip has lead to the arrest of a Plant City couple for growing with the intent to sell hydroponic marijuana.
Angela D. Holbrooks, 35, and Christopher Holbrooks, 30, have been charged with: Manufacture of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession for Purpose of Manufacturing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On April 13, 2012, at approximately 5:20 p.m., deputies responded to a Crime Stoppers tip and went to the Holbrooks home on Bruton Road.
When they arrived, deputies made found Christopher and Angela Holbrooks at home and could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the residence.
They also found a box with fresh cut marijuana clippings on the front porch.
Deputies then obtained a search warrant and once inside they found hydroponic marijuana grow operation with thirty-seven hydroponic plants, which weighed twenty pounds and was valued at approximately $60,000.
Police also discovered that the couple was storing loose marijuana in a three week old child’s room which resulted in the child being removed by Child Protective Services at the scene.
Additional charges are pending.
