A 67-year-old Palmetto man was found dead behind the wheel in a ditch after possibly suffering a medical emergency, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Wilbur George White was driving south on Interstate 75 exit ramp at U.S. Highway 301 when he drove off the shoulder and into a ditch, where he struck several small trees, according to the FHP.
Troopers said there was no damage to his 1995 Dodge van and that he was wearing his seat belt.
An investigation was under way Thursday morning.
