Video Deposition Released in Anthony Case

Zenaida Gonzales is suing Casey Anthony and parts of her 12-hour deposition video has just been released.

Gonzalez is suing Anthony for defamation. She claims Anthony ruined her reputation when Anthony told police a woman by the same name had kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Anthony’s civil attorneys asked how her life was ruined and she said she has suffered severe emotional pain. She said, “I guess you’ve never been accused of kidnapping. It hurts! Because you have to look at your daughter’s face and explain to them why you’re getting accused of kidnapping a child. You have to look at your daughter’s face and say ‘I cannot afford to take care of you right now.’ That’s stressful. That’s emotional.”

Gonzalez says clearing her name for her daughters is her number one priority.

Anthony’s attorney says anyone who watched Casey Anthony’s murder trial knows she wasn’t involved.

Casey Anthony’s civil attorneys asked “That’s not the closure that you needed- a national trial? With the unprecedented publicity? Where others are blamed for the disappearance of Caylee Anthony? That’s not enough to give you the closure that you needed?”

Gonzalez answered “No. It didn’t come out of her [Casey] mouth.”

Anthony sat for her deposition already, though she didn’t say anything except to invoke her Fifth amendment right. Her video was sealed.

The case is scheduled to go to trial next April.
