The U.S. Coast Guard continues to search for a missing twin-engine plane that was en route from Puerto Rico to Titusville Fla., where it was to refuel before heading to New York City.
The search area is about forty miles off the coast of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, where the plane’s last radio contact occurred. The plane was flying at 24 thousand feet and about 300 knots when air traffic control lost contact.
“There’s no indication of significant adverse weather at the time,” said Lt. Cmdr. Ryan Kelly, a Coast Guard spokesman.
Aboard the twin-engine MU-2B are two adults, Nathan Ulrich and Jennifer Blumin of Manhattan, and her two children, ages 10 and 4. The search is being conducted by Coast Guard ships and aircraft.
